Pastors Paul and Karen started Living Rivers Christian School in September 2000. Through Christian education the children are being offered academic training, using the well-tried Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum (which is used by thousands of schools and educators world-wide), and also building Christian character. The ACE program has been used in UK schools for over 26 years. Our vision is that the children of L.R.C.S. be 'trained up in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it', (Proverbs 22:6). What a delight to see our children 'set on high above all the nations of the earth', (Deuteronomy 28:1). Deut. 28:8,9 states our children are not called to deal or to cope with life. The Word of God says clearly they are 'overcomers' in life. It is our prayer for each child that they will have 'life, and have it in abundance'.
The School is Registered as an Independent School for Children of Compulsory School age with the Department of Education for Northern Ireland. We have children of both primary and secondary school age, right through to University entrance. The qualifications taken are the International Certificate of Christian Education (I.C.C.E.) which is recognised by UCAS and employers. The standard and amount of work required is similar to: 9 GCSE grades A*-C for the general level and a minimum of 3 AS and A2 qualifications at the intermediate and advance ICCE grade levels.
The committed staff are trained in the procedures required for this curriculum with regular in-house training, as well as professional training by Christian Education Europe, who oversee the use of the Curriculum in the many schools in the UK and other parts of Europe. Parents pay a fee for children to attend the School.
The School welcomes applications for entrance to the school from families whether they attend Living Rivers Church or not. Admission is not based on IQ or achievement but a prospective student must, however, not be a social or moral liability to other children. Parents and students if transferring in when older, must accept the school's ethos, Conduct and Discipline policies.
