Have you not heard?
God is a good God! There are a lot of things that want to get your attention and tell you the opposite but in Christ you need never be the underdog in life! II Corinthians 4:8-9 AMP, "We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed;"
This life can never be lived again, make sure that you make it count for the Gospel, for the Kingdom of Heaven!
As you get excited about the things of God, don't be intimidated about all that you don't know just allow God to show and teach you; go for it!
Magnifying and praising the Lord is a key to overcoming agitation and annoyance. When you choose to praise the Lord instead of allowing yourself to become agitated then you will soon rise above the flesh (your natural reaction outside of the love of God).
Isaiah 40:28-31 AMP, "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. 29He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. 30Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; 31But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."
As you wait upon the Lord you shall be renewed, this word strength can also mean... they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their productivity, their ability, their force, their fruits, their might, their power and their wealth.
Let's take a closer look at the word 'wait' to see what it is that we need to do! It refers to entangle or twist yourself around. We have to entangle and twist ourselves around God; this is how we wait upon Him! This is done by spending time in the Word, in His presence, in praise, worship and prayer. As we do this then we will be strengthened and receive the insight that we need to produce for Him.
Let's not become to busy that we don't spend time with the Lord, trying to do and produce in ourselves and our own strength. This will only lead to weariness and tiredness but as the Word says, waiting upon God will enable Him to renew us and give us the insight we need to work and live a victorious life!
Worrying is a sin. If you are worrying then you are not waiting upon the Lord but are waiting upon the problem or the worry. Remember in this context to wait, refers to 'entangle yourself with', so if you are entangling yourself with worry and care then you are not entangling yourself with God!
It is easier to see that stealing is wrong, that smoking is dangerous to your health than it is to see that worry is a hindrance to living life God's way. But it is, let's take a look at what Jesus has to say about it;
Matthew 6:25-27 AMP, "Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life?"
Worry will not change anything for the positive but God can. Faith in God, in His Word will produce change in your life and circumstances.
Matthew 6:24 AMP, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in)."
We cannot trust in things, it is in God that we put our trust. By not spending time with God, we are saying, "I don't believe that you can renew my strength, or give me wealth". Worry and anxiety will destroy us, eating away at us to wear us down. Trust in God; He will never break His Word; He can be depended upon!
Hebrews 10:35-36 AMP, "Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. 36For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised."
We must be steadfast and patient in the Word of God, because it will reap the rewards! From time to time you may even get struck down, but as the Word says, you will not be struck out!
Be of good cheer, greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world! Stand strong and steadfast, focused on the Lord and refuse to allow yourself to get caught up in the affairs of this world.
As you stand sure and strong, daily waiting upon the Lord, you will walk in the fullness of all that He has for you.
